A smaller Sunday market but the family-friendly and laidback vibe has nothing to lose compare to the bigger scale crowded ones. Lots of fresh produce and unique selections to choose from

Not a really great place to go around to purchase some produce but it does have a good selection of already prepped foods.

A MUST on Wednesdays and Saturdays till 1pm. Go get fresh, organic food. Usually a celeb siting somewhere along the way. Fresh flowers, dried fruit are my favorites. Just off 3rd street promenade and Arizona.

This is the biggest farmers market I've been to in the LA area! Some really pricey items so shop carefully. For parking: http://www.parkme.com/santa-monica-parking

A local’s favorite, the Sunday Market has plenty of eclectic lunch and breakfast options alongside fresh juices, produce, and artisanal offerings. There’s also live music as well as pony rides for children and various arts and crafts. It can be hard to decide between an award-winning apple melt grilled cheese sandwich, a savory French crepe, an Indonesian rice dish, or an authentic Mexican tamale. Sundays 9:30AM – 1PM on 2640 Main St., Santa Monica.

A mainstay in Santa Monica. This is a great place to head for Sunday brunch. You can sit outside on the grass beneath a shady tree or on one of the tables, eat mouth watering buttermilk pancakes, huge home-made omelettes or fresh tamales, and even ride a pony if you are so inclined. They also have some of the best organic produce in the world! They usually have a live band performing as well.

On Main and Ocean Park - this is the best thing to do on a Sunday morning. Especially with kids. The have a nice lawn and also lots of tables to enjoy their very good and huge choice of breakfast/brunch. There are live bands playing there is some kids entertainment (zoo, ponys, ballons) Not always the same though. The fresh food you can buy is of course wonderful too. Do not miss to by the best Tomatoes in the world in summer/fall time.

Wow. There is nothing like the atmosphere of the place. In addition to the fresh produce and pony rides for the kids, there are booths where you can get great omelets, waffles, burritos, etc. Then you find a seat on the lawn and enjoy. Finally pack up some great stuff to take home.

Stock the kitchen with California farm fresh produce. Walk or park in the parking garages on 2nd Street between Wilshire and Arizona. Bring your own bag and cash. Here you will find every seasonally grown fruit and vegetable at your fingertips.

I absolutely love the Wednesday Farmers' Market. When I used to work down the street, I would go every week and usually end up buying way too much delicous fresh fruit and veg. Now I go there for specific things or during the seasons for my favorite fruits. Try the Charlynne melons during the summer months, or white peaches. My absolute favorite booth is Bezian's Sourdough. Trust me- you have never tried sourdough like this before. Parking tends to get harder as the morning goes on, so get there early. First 90 minutes free in most of the SM lots.

I come here occasionally to buy oysters from Carlsbad aquafarms. They're about as fresh as you can get 'em and you can either have them shucked on the spot for immediate consumption or you can take them home and shuck them yourself, a great deal either way.

LA has a ton of great farmers markets and unfortunately Santa Monica's is only average in comparison. The produce is slightly more expensive and the selection of produce is a lot less diverse than other farmers markets. But what the farmers market lacks in produce in makes up for in convenience and presentation.

Not just fresh produce! It's like a harvest fair every Sunday. There are food booths, artists, entertainers, and just world-class people watching. It's a great place for breakfast or brunch, and you can take your food over to the beach if you can't find a seat.

The Santa Monica Farmer's Market is a perfect stop for Sunday morning breakfast. Besides vegetables & flowers, a large collection of tasty food stalls offering crepes, pastries, Mexican dishes and artisan coffee can be explored onsite. A blanket is recommended as there is a nice loan to picnic while enjoying a meal.
