This high end hotel has a lovely bar area that draws people to sit for drinks and a chat. The fitness room is large and well equipped. The rooms are very comfortable.

Really nice large rooms with a very comfy bed. Love the mirrors in the bathroom, they are lit perfectly. Nice location near lots of restaurants, and walking distance to the Convention Center. Don't plan on putting your own drinks in the fridge though. It is fitted with sensors and if you move something they will charge you for it!

The Fairmont San Jose located in northern California also known as Silicon Valley is located downtown. The location is great for either business travelers or families as restaurants and bars are within walking distance. This 5 star hotel has 805 rooms, swimming pool with great views of downtown amd the mountains, and an amazing restaurant: Fountain.

Located minutes from local bars, night clubs, the park, the museum and many more attractions this hotels location is great. The bathrooms are as big as the room and the rooms are not small. Very clean and luxurious feel from the moment you enter the front door. Be forewarned they charge for everything, parking is 30$ a day, and the rooms have more weight sensors for goods than a mission impossible movie.

Rooftop pool a plus!

Fairmont San Jose is located in the heart of Silicon Valley just a few miles from Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. The hotel is a convenient home base whether you’re in town for a San Jose Sharks hockey game, a world-class tech conference or perhaps even a jaunt to one of the dozens of wineries that call the Santa Clara Valley or the Santa Cruz Mountain wine regions home. Located near the central business district in downtown San Jose, the luxury hotel is a short walk from a number of restaurants and shops. It’s also directly across from the Plaza de César Chávez park.

Given that Fairmont San Jose is located in the heart of Silicon Valley’s vivacious tech scene, it should come as no surprise that the rooms at the hotel are aptly wired. Three quarters of the hotel has been completely renovated and redone as of the autumn of 2013. All of the hotel’s 808 rooms feature televisions in the bathroom mirrors and fun perks like the ability to turn your Apple iPhone or Droid device into a remote control for the bedroom television with the simple download of an app. Seventy-seven of the rooms are suites and there are an additional three luxury suites that offer more than 1,200 square feet apiece. The average room size is a spacious 450 square feet, giving guests plenty of room to roam. Each room at the San Jose hotel is designed in a manner that welcomes sunlight and evokes a sense of home away from home.

Our company's holiday event was hosted at the Fairmont hotel. The hotel is located at the heart of downtown San Jose right in front of the park. Very festive during the holiday season.

This Fairmont, like many other Fairmonts I have been to, is classy and elegant. The staff I have encountered were all courteous and accommodating. The banquet room on the second floor is magnificent with a beautiful reception area decorated with large crystal chandelier, grand piano and lovely chinas. It is quite a perfect venue for a business party.

Came here for a graduation party on the top floor suite. The Fairmont is as luxurious as it gets - top shelf. Even the President will come here to give speeches. On the bottom floor there are restaurants and a sushi bar. It can get crowded at any point in the year.

One of the most beautiful hotels in San Jose that couldn't be in a better location. Surrounded by some of the best hot spots in the city, if you have a choice this is a great place to stay.

I've stayed here for the past four years whenever I am working my main convention in San Jose.

I usually get one of the suites and it suits my needs perfectly! The space is large and the bedroom is a separate room from the suite. There's another door that can open to an attached room so if you have friends who are also staying at the Fairmont (or if you have more family members than beds), you can get the attached room so that they can enjoy the living area. Which worked fantastic for me since I kept a lot of things in here such as snacks, program guides, drinks, t-shirts, etc.

The bathroom is large and there's a door to the toilet which is cool if someone wants to use the toilet but I want to do my hair. Then we can be in the bathroom at the same time. There's also a vanity area which is great for make up!!! The closet is a decent size since I like to unpack everything and hang what I need up! Especially if I am staying there for a week!

The area around the Fairmont is great! It has a few restaurants attached to it and I love tea time in their lobby area. You will have to reserve in advance for it but most nights, they have live entertainment and drinks, which is my favorite part while relaxing with friends.

It's also close to the San Jose Convention Center which makes it a nice walk when you have to be there all week long.

My favourite memory from last weekend was the warm and friendly Concierge asking Gayle whether anyone had told her that she looked like Ann-Margret? The answer is Yes to those who know who I'm talking about!

Gayle and I had a romantic "one night stand" at the Fairmont last weekend. We had won some Sharks tickets at a Charity Auction for Saturday night and decided to make it a short date weekend. And it was only $109 a night plus tax.

This is a classy hotel that is part of the old Canadian Pacific Chain. So if you like this place, just imagine what you'll find at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria or the Château Lake Louise. The room itself was very nicely appointed, the bed was very comfortable, and we had a killer view from one of its many corners. It was almost the price of admission to just sit by the window, look down at the stylistic F in the swimming pool below, and take in the San Jose Sky Line (such as it is). Gayle also appreciated that you could crack open the window and get a little natural air.

Outside the room, there are enough choices that could keep you inside the Hotel proper if you wished. Gayle and I had a nice Happy Hour at the Grill and although the Lobby Lounge was cold in the afternoon, it was hot entertainment-wise when we returned from the game. There's also an elegant spa available as well as coffee and sweet rolls for pickup in the morning.

As a sometimes Business traveler, me staying at the Fairmont would depend on the Corporate Rate and the Hotel's listing as approved. If both those criteria were met, I don't know why I would stay anywhere else in the Downtown San Jose Area.

This is probably the classiest hotel in downtown San Jose. it is the Fairmont after all but let's face it, do you really want to stay here?

I never knew much about downtown San Jose until I was given a recent history lesson at work. Apparently downtown San Jose used to be quite a shady spot only 10 years ago, where people rarely walked around past 6 pm and the business district was empty by 7 like a ghost town. It wasn't safe, or a nice place to be.

Nowadays, there is food establishments all around, lots of bars, late night eateries and a university, but there still isn't much here. Personally I feel jipped at paying $200+ a night to stay somewhere that you have to pay for parking and there's not much going on just because it's nice.

Although it has all the luxuries of a Fairmont you would expect in the rooms like large comfortable beds, great showers and yummy smelling toiletries, the lobby is a bit messy, the bar can get a little rowdy and the Grill on the Alley is extremely pricey for what you get.

Very nice hotel. Modern decor, nice hallways and great lighting makes it a terrific place for some excellent photo opportunities. The rooms are well appointed but then you don't expect any less from a Fairmont.

San Diego, California, USA

Over the years, I've attended several meetings, banquets, and events at this Fairmont. Service and attention is always impeccable. Catered food is tasty---but you pay dearly for it.

The rooms are spacious with great beds, roomy bathrooms, and are well decorated.

TIP: Skip the hotel parking and valet----there are tons of parking structures nearby that are much cheaper.

I wasnt supposed to stay here with my cousin and her bf. But a night of drinking with them has led to or rather led me back to the floor. The hotel is great and the carpet is very nice. I think the closet was very comfortable too. But there's nothing like waking up face down, drunkenly confused on the floor of a fairmont hotel room....the carpets are very very very nice.
