My boyfriend and I stayed a night for a mini staycation. It was Halloween night, so there was a crowd outside Blowfish Sushi next door. It was a bit loud on the street, but you couldn't hear anything from the room. You take the elevators from the ground floor to the 3rd to get to the check-in desk, then take a second set of elevators up to the rooms.

We had a regular king room and it was pretty spacious. There was a flat screen TV on the wall with a number of outlets, a king bed, and a sitting chair. The private balcony overlooking Santana Row was nice! There was a table and two chairs outside. Oh, there's also a complimentary continental breakfast every morning at Citrus, the hotel's restaurant. We grabbed our food and sat outside since it was nice out.

There's a pool up on the 5th floor; the entrance is by the Fitness Room (gym). The gym isn't big, but it has your basics with free weights, a treadmill, elliptical, and one or two weight machines. The outdoor pool and hot tub is really nice; complete with an outdoor shower too so you can rinse off before heading up to your room.

Hotel Valencia is a great spot to stay if you want easy access to shopping. You can wake up and go shopping along Santana Row, or walk across the street to Valley Fair. Most of the bars in the area close by midnight though, FYI.

Hotel Valencia Santana Row has fun events going on during the warmer months (like its free summer music series as well as the popular monthly wine and cheese tastings at Cielo, its seasonal rooftop terrace).

Hotel Valencia Santana Row’s interior has a dark, moody feel to it. From the deep-red carpeting in its corridors to the dark wood accents, the hotel exudes an effortless sensuality. Hotel Valencia’s Italian-Asian flair is expected to give way to a lighter Spanish villa look once the first phase of renovations is complete in early 2014. The exterior of the hotel has a European-chic look, given its many terraces and balconies. Perhaps one of the best design features at the San Jose hotel is its ample outdoor space and courtyard, where you can kick back with a cocktail or food and soak up the lovely weather. Hotel Valencia’s courtyard has three water fountains and two outdoor fire pits, making it a fantastic place to catch your breath after a busy day wine tasting in the Santa Cruz Mountains or strolling Santana Row.

Hotel Valencia is situated at the heart of vibrant Santana Row where there's plenty of options for restaurant as well as nightlife. The hotel architecture is a good fusion of old world European style and sleek modern design.

We usually end up in the V-Bar inside Hotel Valencia for drinks on Thurs and Fri nights at Santana Row. Its a nice hotel with a rooftop bar and swimming pool. It also has the courtyard (where V-Bar is) and ballrooms for Weddings, where one of my friends got married there.

This is a chic little hotel with an excellent location right in the middle of Santana Row. The setup is a little odd in that you take the elevators up to the lobby level to check in. But the lobby itself is quite large with a loungey seating area. Just past the registration desk is another set of elevators that take you up to the room floors.

There is low lighting throughout the hotel, which I suppose the hotel feels lends to the swank factor. The rooms continue this theme, and are nicely decorated with dark wood and leather furniture. Rooms have views of the central courtyard or out onto Santana Row. Note: this may not be the best hotel for you if you're a light sleeper since Santana Row nightlife noise can spill over into the hotel. When I stayed here, our room was at the back of the hotel, just over Rosie McCann's Pub, so it was a noisy night until after last call. If I stay again, I'll ask for a room on the other side for sure.

Other times I've come to the Hotel Valencia just for drinks. The V Bar is pretty small, cramped and definitely a scene. But some of the tables and seats in the courtyard across the way are considered part of V Bar. It's very relaxing to hang out and listen to the sound of the fountain and people watch before the bar gets too busy.

I know it's just Hotel Valencia on Santana Row, but I like hanging out here for some reason. It's probably one of my preferred spots on the Row. V bar's drinks are disappointing, but the ambiance just can't be beat. The outside area is nice, too..especially during summer nights. Come here on a quiet night, and you're in for a good longing experience/environment with friends. They have a decent wine list at affordable prices (some good reds for $9-10/glass).

I think a lot of people review this place for the bar, but this is strictly speaking the hotel portion! I have my opinions about the bar ...

And because of this popular bar, you will probably not be able to find much sanity if you stay downstairs and try to attempt the bar while staying here in hotel Valencia. The rooms are gorgeous and the ones with a view of Santana Row are especially nice. In the day time, the rooms have plenty of natural, good light and the beds are quite comfortable.

The location is fantastic on Santana Row and it actually gives you a quaint getaway even if you're still right smack in the middle of San Jose. It's a different feel, and you can almost pretend it's a different place.

However, with that said, it's very pricey, and very noisy, and you will find lots of unpleasantly liquored folks out every night. Especially on weekends. If you can afford it and don't mind the noise, this is a great spot to stay even if you're having a 'staycation!'

I was here for my company's xmas party. The valet did both park my car and get it when I needed it. The elevator up is always fun. I can't really comment on the rooms or anything of that nature but I can comment on the ballroom area. There was gambling, some food, dancing and open bar!!!

Honestly, I do not remember much of the event as I had good reason to make full use of the open bar facilities. Not to mention the open bar section was apart of Vbar... though the bartender was not too familiar with an AMF but managed to find out how. so with that being said it was one of the best, smoothing going, balanced AMF's I've ever had, probably explains why I drank so many and danced the night away.
