your tongue. The rhythm of the ocean waves on one side and the hum of passing bicycles on the other lull you into a peaceful hypnosis... that is until the intermittent screams emanating from the Giant Dipper roller coaster knock you out of your trance. Or maybe it was the increased heart-rate inflicted by the cute surfer that walked past? Whatever the case, the best place to enjoy beachside pleasures, people-watching, family fun, and great nightlife is this mile-long, bay side stretch where you’ll find great hotels, condos, restaurants, and attractions.

More laidback beach town attached to PB. Cool spots to eat & drink. A number of these pics are from the Art Alley.

Great stretch of beaches, scenic walking and cycling paths - we enjoyed chilling out here with some sunshine for a few days.

This is my favorite beach in San Diego. I love the boardwalk, the scenery, and overall people. There's a lot to do and the sand is the prettiest by far.

Just south of Pacific Beach is Mission Beach, down Mission Blvd. It spans nearly two miles of ocean front.

This beach is simple and clean. It doesn't get as crowded as some of the other beaches. Parking does take some time, but not as crazy as other places. I like that I get to see dogs enjoying themselves on the other side of the beach.

What an amazing place! So many cool shops, and Belmont park is a great place for kids and adults. The coolest part was getting to ride the roller coaster, which happened to be the same one my grandpa rode shortly after it was built.

Been going there since 1959. Changed a lot over the years. One thing better and some thing worse.

I love mission beach. I just moved to south mission, and I love it! Love to watch the volleyballers showcase their talents. Just remember, you really can't drink on the beach or you will get busted and fined... =(

Such a fun, relaxing beach. Located on a sandbar between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay (also a must see!). Gorgeous views and very laid-back vibe. I love biking along the water and people watching. There's lots of little shops and restaurants in the area, so everything is very accessible.

I found this part of San Diego to be a really lovely place to stay and vacation. The most amazing part about the beach is that it is a thin peninsula so all the houses are close to both the beach and the bay and the sun rises and sunsets are spectacular on both sides!

Very nice beach but very touristy. Busy boardwalk filled with all kinds of attractions, so there's always something to see. If you're looking for the typical summer vacation beach spot, you've found it!

The Beach Boardwalk along MB is a great place to walk, bike, skate, or blade. On one end, you have Belmont Park, complete with a wooden roller coaster and surfing machine, and some other attractions. On the other end, you hit Pacific Beach, which is also fun to explore. The location is excellent, just a short ride to downtown San Diego, and there are great waves and soft sand to enjoy all the time.

Gorgeous sunsets and lovely for walks along the boardwalk! Tons of bars & restaurants nearby, try Sandbar for taco Tuesday or wave house in the summer!

I cannot agree how beautiful this beach is. Mission Beach has a good amount of activities either night or day. Spend the day by the beach if you are planning to rent a beach home. They are plenty of beach homes for people to rent. You just have to worry about the parking situation for others.

There are walking distances of bars, restaurants and a small amusement park to play. If you are staying in Mission Beach, you must try Luigi’s At The Beach. They have the BIGGEST pizza you can ask for. $5 for a giant slice of anything and they also have a gigantic whole pizza for I don't know the price, but it will wow your eyes.

99 Steps to the Ocean or the Bay, either upstairs or downstairs - two of the best vacation rental experiences we've ever had. Family owned and oriented, very personal and comfortable - just like having a close friend or relative in Mission Beach!
