A beautiful place to go for a walk, jog, run, or swim. Lots of little parks to visit and picnic at as well.

Mission Bay is a great spot for outdoor activities in San Diego. Running, SUPing, sailing are all there, plus a great beach. Local eateries provide a variety of food selection to fuel up after a long day in the sun.

I think one of the best places in San Diego. I watch them build Mission Bay when I move there in 1959.

One of the best places for family recreation in the county - there are tons of water sports (and watercraft rentals), trails, picnic and camping spots, and plenty of year-round activities like fireworks, 5K runs, and festivals happening around here.

While Mission Beach is humming with the hustle and bustle of locals and tourists, Mission Bay manages to have all of that and still maintain its peaceful relaxed vibe. Incredible views from any position. It's definitely worth making the trip. I recommend renting kayaks, etc. and getting out in the water or taking a tour on one of the boats. Plus, you're right by Pacific Beach/La Jolla, so there's lots to do/eat/see.

Mission Bay is a saltwater bay or lagoon located south of the Pacific Beach community of San Diego, California. The bay is part of the recreational Mission Bay Park, the largest man-made aquatic park in the country, consisting of 4,235 acres, approximately 46% land and 54% water. The combined area makes Mission Bay Park the ninth largest municipally-owned park in the United States.

Wakeboarding, jet skiing, sailing, andcamping are popular on the bay. With miles of light color sandy beaches and an equally long pedestrian path, it is equally suitable for cycling, jogging, roller skating andskateboarding, or sunbathing.

Mission Bay Yacht Club, on the west side of the bay, conducts sailing races year-round in the bay and the nearby Pacific Ocean and has produced national sailing champions in many classes.

Fiesta Island, a large peninsular park located within Mission Bay, is a popular location for charity walks and runs, bicycle races, time trials and other special events. It is also the home of the annual Over-the-line tournament.

Mission Bay is also host to the annual Bayfair Cup, which is a hydroplane boat race that takes place on the H1 Unlimited circuit.

Mission Bay is such a beauty. I frequented Mission Bay and the surrounding coves as a kid and loved being able to play on the playground at the beach. It was a great area for birthday parties, BBQ's, and riding bikes or roller skates. Plenty of grassy area and has bathrooms and close parking.
