This is a really fun and nice resort. The rooms are a good size though the room itself is plainly decorated. The bathroom is the best part as far as size goes. Bring your own bubble bath or pay a ridiculous amount for some in the gift shop. My only complaints is that the pricy breakfast doesn’t include all the items. It’s $10 more for the hot breakfast but the extra we paid for a general breakfast to be added on the room was more than the amount of food we ate. Everything closes down too early, especially the boats. But a nice hotel and I really enjoyed my stay all in all. Bring floats for the pool and if you need to air up the floats it’s easy with a pump at the pool.

I spent several nights here while my husband attended a convention and I was less than impressed with the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort. I can barely think of anything that was positive about my experience here, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The problems started from the moment we pulled up to the front door to check in. An overly eager man came running up to tell us to pull "over there" in the parking lot marked Valet Only so we could check in, reminding us to "come back and see" him once we got our room assignment so he could tell us "the best place to park." Fishing for tips, my man, fishing for tips. There's no "best place to park" because the hotel only has ONE parking garage and it's at the end of the property, meaning a nice, long walk if you have your own car.

The property has a weird layout, meaning that if you aren't lucky, you'll have a very long hike to your guest room. We had to park in the garage, take an elevator up to the convention center, walk out of the convention center and past the car rental office, into the main lobby, up another elevator, then all the way back down the hall to our room. Some really unlucky souls had an even longer maze of a walk to their rooms.

The room was very dated but had nice windows and a cute little balcony. The shower was tiny with a standard bathtub. The in-room fridge was nice, but only two complimentary mini bottles of generic water were provided ONCE during our stay. Pretty lame for a desert "resort." The a/c unit in our room did not cool well and it got very uncomfortable in the middle of the night. The beds were far from "spa" like and were rock hard, reminiscent of the style of mattresses you'll find in hotels all over Europe.

Maid service was good when they showed up; usually it wasn't until very late in the day (4:30 pm or later). The parking garage was dark with motion activated lights that weren't nearly bright enough to see anything; I got the creeps when parking myself late at night.

To add insult to injury, the hotel levies a bogus, totally offensive $35 PER NIGHT "resort fee" on top of the high nightly rate. Look at my photo of what this lame fee covers -- stuff the average person would NEVER use, like golf bag storage or Biggest Loser classes. What? Why should I have to pay for stupid things like that?

The grounds are beautiful and there's a free boat ride that you can catch in the lobby. There's a spacious lobby bar with a very good menu of wines and beers by the glass. Golf courses, palm trees, flamingos out front...all a colossal waste of water. Oh, and they have captive parrots in the lobby, and most of the time they'd squawk and scream because they were so bored. It made me so sad.

This sprawling luxury resort has a marina in the main building complete with boats! There's a massive golf course, luxurious pool and pink flamingos on the grounds.

This JW Marriott has electric boats that go from the lobby to various place in the resort. There are also a few golf courses on the property.

Our family stayed here for Thanksgiving a few years ago in a two bedroom timeshare unit with kitchen. These are oversized rooms backing to a golf course. Very nice facility for families.

My girlfriends and I take a trip once every few years here as a girls only getaway. We love this hotel because it's nice, clean and sits on beautiful lush green grass! There is also a huge lake in the middle of the hotel and they offer free boat rides! Sometimes you'll see swans swimming around. This is the ultimate place to relax and chill by the pool or get a nice tan.

Lots of restaurants, and they all have great food. There is also a disco here....for the young and young at heart.

JW Marriott in Palm Desert lives up to it's reputation as a JW property as amazing resort complete with bars, pools, night club and golf course. I highly recomend to stay here but be warned Of the heat in summer. Hotels in the área will give discounted golf rates in the summer Because it is so hot.

Always a family fun place to be... And it's a pleasure to be a Marriot member.

lush grounds and great service, but I would skip it in the summer, when low season rates bring out a jersey-shorish, tattoed, hard-partying crowd. suffice to say that the first thing i saw when i got out of the car after parking was a puddle of vomit. shudder.

Fun place to walk too from our home... take the boat ride, eat dinner and play golf... it's just expensive...

Love the location (Palm Desert!).
Love the weather (what's not to love about 60s in February?)
Love the outside (gorgeous pools, gondola, golf course)

Do not like the inside of the rooms at all. The place is dated. Getting old. Carpet is worn. There are holes in the curtains, blankets, etc. The rooms are small (and expensive since it's a JW). AND, there's popcorn in the ceiling!

Did enjoy the room service. Food was tasty.

Love this place! I stay in the time share section, which is like a one bedroom condo with W&D, full kitchen, can sleep up to 6. Great golf. Love the gondola over at the hotel section, use these to access some fabulous restaurants.
