Only 20 minutes or so from city centre and a year round view point and home to winter skiing or snowshoeing and the summer hiking. Enjoy the gondola ride up or, in the summer you can do the "Grouse grind." The top sports a coffee shop and restaurant, sports stores and, in the winter a skating ring, Santa's workshop, reindeer and sleigh rides.

A good place to go Mountain climbing, not too hard even for the beginners. nice restaurant and coffee shop on the top of the hill. Cable-cart is a easy way for the kids and seniors.

One of Vancouver's favourite tourist attractions - great place to spend a half-day, whether summer or winter. Take the Gondola to the top of the mountain and experience the different attractions, including bear reserve, logger show, wildlife films, skating, skiing and sleigh rides in winter etc.

Just a 15 drive from Haddon House.

Be prepared for LONG gondola lines unless its off season. Next time I'd go really early. Stunning views, great trails and got to visit with the black bears which was cool.

A place where you can hike up a mountain. When you reach the top there's a gift shop and restaurant.

Not the best ski mountain, with the lack of many runs and the generally high prices. But it's where I learned to ski, and held a seasons pass for many years. Even if its not the best ski mountain, the skate rink is really fun on a snowy winter night and the fries are amazing. (Plus the gondola is a beautiful ride, and the grouse grind is a great workout!).

Are you a snow bunny? Snowboarder, skier? Well, if so, be sure to add Grouse Mountain to your list of to-dos in Vancouver. If not, or if the mountain is closed for the season, you can also come here to do the notorious Grouse Grind Hike, which consists of a staircase that seems to never end, until you reach the great view at the top! One of the closest of the mountains in and around Vancouver, you can easily reach Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver with a vehicle or with public transit. Other activities here include skating and snowshoeing in the winter months. Either way, make Grouse a trip regardless of the season!

It's amazing to have a place like this so close to Vancouver. The tickets to get to the top are unexpectedly expensive (about $40 per person), but disappearing into the clouds into a wintery wonderland was totally worth it. In addition to skiing/snowboarding, you can also snowshoe, ice skate, and go on a "snow limo" ride. In the summer there are opportunities aplenty for hiking. The lodge at the top has a coffee shop and three restaurants, plus a gift shop and a theater that shows nature films. This is a fabulous day out from Vancouver.

#gogotip: Since the ride up the mountain is so expensive, save money getting to the mountain. From downtown Vancouver, take the SeaBus to Lonsdale Quay, and then catch the 236 bus to Grouse Mountain.

You can see this mountain from your homestay. Great gondola ride and for all you outdoor hardcores. The Grouse Grind. We dare you. One of Vancouver's main outdoor "rights of passage."

Went here while in Vancouver, but thought the pricing was a bit steep at $43.95 a pop for the ride up in the lift. We decided to skip this to do the peak to peak at Whistler. If this was a little cheaper would definitely have done this.

It was the first time I had my head in the clouds - literally! If you're tough enough try hiking up the mountain. Many make it, many don't. For the rest of us, the lift is just fine. At the top there are black bears, zip lining, ski lifts and other interesting things to do. Overall, Grouse Mountain is great for someone who loves the outdoors and a little adventure.

I spent the best of the a day here and it still wasn't enough! So much to see, if you like your views, walking, bears, wolves, lumberjack shows and the gondola ride up/down is pretty cool too!

I wish I visited Grouse Mountain in the winter time! Riding their ski lifts would have been more picturesque. Aside from the time of year, Grouse Mountain is a pretty gorgeous scenic point and there’s plenty for the whole family to do. You can walk/hike the trails, see some animals and shows, zip line, or even visit the windmill!

The “skyride” in their cable car itself is an adventure! You basically climb elevation in a short amount of time while listening to some information the employees have about the mountain.

My group took public transportation here, very commuter friendly!

Grouse Mountain for skiing or snowboarding is kick-ass! You can't beat a mountain which is 30 minutes bus ride from downtown with stunning views across Vancouver.

However, pro tip: Don't attempt the Grouse Grind aka "Mother Nature's Stair master" with your *much* healthier Vancouver born-and-bred friends unless you want to experience the closest thing to hell on earth. It is BLOODY DIFFICULT. *wheezes*

Outdoors exercise for me is usually a hike when I'm in Vancouver, the Grousse Grind kicks butt! 1500 feet straight up and my best time is 55 minutes.

On a sunny day, this is a much-go. At the top, they say you have a spectacular view of downtown. The rope-way to the top is very expensive, though ($40, round-trip). You can also hike up. I would have, but I ran out of time.

Hiked the Grouse Grind. An amazing and very intense trail! Over 100,000 people high it yearly.
