For the best view of Montreal, you must head to the top of Mount Royal! You’ll have a view of the skylines like nothing else.

A large beautiful park that could take days to explore. The scenery is great and as is the public art.

Great vistas. Bring water and comfy shoes. Many 'paths ' are numeroud & winding; all have a single name, though, of the architect who designed the Park!

It's a beautiful place to forget that you are in the concrete jungle, you can exercise, just walk or just rest in the grass.

The Mount Royal is also walking distance from my apartment and you will be in a quiet environment. When you go to the Mount Royal observatory, on top, you have a great view on all downtown Montreal.

Montreal's nature park in the middle of the city. Located on top of Mount Royal, our city's only mountain, its a great place to walk, run, hike, enjoy a commanding view over the downtown area and the St-Lawrence river or take a bike ride.

I love this nature patch in the middle of the city. It's a wonderful trail of about 5K all the way to the top, highly recommended! During the summer and spring you will find a cool drum circle on the foot of the parc (near the statue) called a Tam-Tam.
During the fall this is a place of magic everything turns red and you must take millions of pictures. During the winter people come here to cross country ski, snow show and enjoy the snow. And thats without mentioning the wonderful views from the top (a photographer dream) the beautiful walking paths, the nice lake at the top, the mid-evil fights and the practicing acrobats (during the tam-tams)...just go there!

When you head here bring lots of water and your exercise gear because this is a runners and bicycler's paradise, straight up lightly paved gravel paths and back down at the speed of light. Into the woods they go, the young, the old, families and strollers too, but be prepared to pay to park.

Mount Royal park is really the heart of Montreal, it has everything: walking trails, lakes, beautiful people, jugglers, tightrope walkers, hack circles... This is a place to bring a sheet to spread out and picnic on, for sure. There are also long swathes of open space that are perfect for throwing a frisbee and football if that's your thing. Every Sunday while the weather's nice there's this huge gathering that occurs from about noon to 7— it's called "tam tams" it an impromptu carnival whose centre is a drum circle. The event is not "put on" by anyone, it's just locals who show up to drum, frisbee and talk. It is really a sight to behold— in the summers thousands of Montrealers show up for tams. Don't miss this gem of a cultural happening if you're here in the summer months!

If you love climbing things and hiking, do this. If you don't, certainly not an out-of-this-world park for a visit.

Although it is funny that they call it "the Mountain".

Mont Royal Park is like the Central Park of Montreal! The best day to check it out is one Sunday's when the park comes to life with the Tam Tams gathering.

Take a walk from Maison Smith and you'll be blown away by the view of the hidden quiet lake on the top of the city. Park has been designed by the same architect that built Central Park

Great place for a picnic, walk up the mountain to the lookout point where glorious views of Montreal can be seen. Sundays during the Summer, check out the Tam Tam gathering, where hundreds of percussion players congregate and make great music!
