One of the many parks I visited during my short stay in Manila, also around sunset. Rizal park holds many local events and is great for an afternoon stroll.

Park named after our national hero, JOSE RIZAL, it is called Rizal Park. Before, its name is Bagumbayan, then Luneta. Near the Luneta Grandstand is the Manila Bay where you can watch the beautiful sunset.

The Rizal Park is where the founding father of Philippine Independence, Jose Rizal, was executed by the Spanish colonialists. He was led from his cell to this spot and promptly shot by a firing squad.

Rizal Park is actually pretty large park to visit. It is even larger when the heat and humidity is hitting you.

There are a lot of green grass fields, most of which are roped off. Northern areas of Rizal has more places to sit. Also in the northern areas of Rizal is a pond with man made islands of different significant historical information. Rizal Park is not so far from Intramuros, and can be easily walked to from there, if the heat and humidity does not get to you first.

Haven't been here in years and it has improved tremendously. It's a beautiful place right smack in the middle of busy Manila.

We had a great time here! Friends and I have gone out to hang out in the park to just chill and be irreverent on several occasions. It's great for that, but it's also fun to actually take a moment and be reverent. It is a historical spot and though this isn't the venue to go into historical details. If you're in Manila, you have to come here and learn about the Filipino national hero known as Jose Rizal.

Very popular with locals - gets crowded over the weekends and holidays, especially at night. Many vendors, keep your valuable close at hand or someone else will.

the famous jose rizal, the country's national hero was shot by the spaniards. his monument was erected where guards take shift to guard him. we use to come here and distract these guards but they won't even blink! how foolish of us to do that, very unpatriotic if you asked me. people all around the city hang out here especially in the afternoon to cool themselves because as you see, it is always very hot.
