Yum, yum, yum! If you're looking for Malaysian food well within the budget, this is the spot! It's close to Bukit Bintang, so after a night of partying this is a nice place to catch some last minute eats. This would be a backpackers heaven, it's cheap and delicious.

Street full of small restaurants. It's cheep, (5RM drink, 15RM meal), yummy and has amazing atmosphere. Even if you would not eat there you should take a walk thru.

Jalan Alor might be a little bit crowd, especially from evening, but I don't mind for what all the restaurants here could offer to the visitors; plenty choices of good food and affordable price.

Used to be The place for local hawker fare at bargain prices. Sadly it's more of a tourist trap now with most of the hawkers doing the cooking not even locals. Still is a good experience for 1st time visitors wanting to sample hawker culture but nothing stands out for me now.

Jalan Alor is a stretch of a few hundred meters of restaurants next to the Bukit Bintang road. During daytime there is not much going on here, but when the sun sets the whole street gets bustling with life and loads of street food vendors. It is mostly Chinese and Thai food here, but ever menu is thick as a book and you can basically find anything Malaysia has got to offer here. Brilliant place for hanging out at a small table with a beer and a newspaper.

All things grilled and steamed and fried up for your street food indulgence. Grab a bunch of friends or even go solo, Jalan Alor has it all for you.

I heard about this place but never been. Happened to be in the area without a map and walked right into it. Amazed at all the restaurants and food stalls on this street and how crowded it was. Loved the atmosphere and the food.

There's no shortage of decent restaurants in the Malaysian capital, but like so many other Asian cities, there's also this terrific cluster of places offering really good and inexpensive street food. Far more atmospheric.

Satay, fried rice and more satay. Maybe some laksa thrown in for good measure. The smell that permeates from some of these restaurants are fantastic. It helped that my hostel was so close to this street. I think I had satay every night that I stayed there. There are a lot of options so pick the restaurant you like a get ready for some of the best, cheapest food you'll get in the city.
