Krakow Vacations

With one of the largest medieval squares in the world, stately castles and a scenic riverfront, Krakow has become a highlight on anyone's 'grand tour' of Europe. The historic city center (Stare Miasto) is best visited by a stroll down The Royal Way past St. Florian's Gate, the Rynek Glowny (the biggest Medieval square in Europe) and the famous ... Read more
Wawel castle, home of Poland’s past kings. Those interested in Krakow’s longtime Jewish population should visit the Jewish district of Kazimierz. For a more somber but important lesson in history, spend a day at the nearby Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps.

Weather

Weather-wise, Krakow is loveliest in the late spring (mid-May to mid-June) and early fall (mid-September to mid-October), not to mention less crowded. Visiting Krakow during these quieter times of the year will ... Read more
not only give you more elbow room to explore this fascinating city, but you’ll also score lower rates. That’s not to say that summer is off-limits: June to August are equally pleasant in terms of weather with temperatures in the low 70s Fahrenheit (low 20s Celsius), and the city is alive with festivals. By European standards, winter isn’t all that bad either; yes, it’s cold (average highs range between 33-37, or 0-2), but it can also be beautiful, especially around the holidays.

Amazing atmosphere! Super relaxing and affordable. Easy to get around, uber is quite cheap as well, not to mention the bus and metro (compared to UK). Always felt safe even at night. Definitely coming back!

Beautiful people, great food and so much culture to soak up it will leave you full and pleased!! It is a short bus ride to Auschwitz also and I highly recommend the trip.

Fantastic food. I loved the ambient here. I made friends with some students that helped me practice my Russian. PolskiBus never came to pick me up so all of us had to take the train. Met a hype marathon runner there.

One of the best cities in all of Poland with tremendous medieval history. It’s also very walkable and has one of the largest public squares in all of Europe.

Krakow is a must see city in Poland. Its more like a medieval town with well kept buildings, fortunately was not destroyed in the World War II. You just get a feeling that you were transported back to the past when you were walking around the old town square.

Beautiful old town area! Great cafes and museums, safe, reasonably priced and fun!give it a try!!close by to Auschwitz and Salt Mines. Both are accessible day trips. Tons of history and we highly recommend the free walking tours. (Just give the guide a generous tip at the end). We even did a macabre tour in the evening that was fascinating but not for the faint of heart. Nice horse drawn carriages also circle the huge old town.
