If you prefer the water sort (you ARE in Hawaii, after all), the beach area, with its picturesque rock formations and cove-like setting, offers a burst of eye candy to go with your swim.

Haleiwa Beach Park is just to the east of the Haleiwa Boat Harbor, if you are looking for a great spot to hang out, take a dip, surf a little and have access to restrooms & showers, with a nearby convenience store , this is the place to plop. The area is clean, enjoys a lifeguard and has excellent views of the North Shore toward Dillingham. There is ample parking.
Take a mat and picnic under the large shower trees. This is a great place for parties or BBQ's.
If you want a great spot for beginner surfers, join the groms out in the water who practice daily for the annual Menehune Surf Contest. Wear protective footwear, the bottom is really rocky & shallow or stroll along the narrow sandy beach to Kai'aka Park. Perfect spot to watch gorgeous sunset!

If you visit Haleiwa you'll probably recognize some of the art from social media. I think it's a pretty popular place to go to in Oahu.

Stop by one of the beaches in Haleʻiwa and just sit back as you watch the sky change colors. I love it when I get to end my day with a gorgeous sunset because it makes me feel so calm and relaxed. I recommend Haleʻiwa Beach Park because it's easy to find and it doesn't seem to get very crowded. I like this spot because it's pretty cool to watch the sky turn a purple hue as canoe paddlers make their way across the horizon. The beach park has their own parking lot, as well as some restrooms.

Not the most scenic beach on the north shore, but it offers plenty of parking and easy access from town which is nice. Also a good protected spot to learn to surf.

As long as one goes beyond the park entrance and into the area with trees, a little bit of walking will get one to several secluded beach areas, which generally do not have that many people there. Save a few aviation sounds, I heard nothing but waves.
