Oh Arashi

you're so fine

you're so fine

you blow my mind

Arashi! ARASHI!

Just SICK, absolutely SICK

and DISGUSTING

So DISGUSTINGLY GOOD.

Wait, WTF is Arashi? It's actually Kagetsu Arashi. らあめん花月嵐, a Japanese chain that invaded Taipei a few years back.

It is debatable whether Kagetsu Arashi is up there with the best ramen in Taipei, but it sure beats anything in Northern California.

This location is upstairs on the 2nd floor (Breeze Center) from Taipei Main Station.

Do not miss any seasonal or limited edition offerings they have, be it the "BLACK" ramen (if you have been to Mountain View's Maru-Ichi ramen and have had their Kuro Ramen, it's the same thing, but executed a million times better), spicy miso that is dubbed Aka Oni (Red Demon), or just their hybrid broth ramen that contains ni-boshi (dried fishies/sardines/anchovies) and of course a strong bonito flakes presence. One of their signatures is a pork knuckle (trotter) ramen (in the broth, not served as a bone in meat), that is absolutely delightful.

There's also a great cast iron skillet fried rice (with a giant slab of butter to give it that extra smoothy feeling), some killer super spicy that would make you hiccup kimchi chives, crush it yourself from whole cloves garlic (to make your breath shine even more).
