rustic, charming old villages like Saint-Ferreol-Les-Neiges and Beaupre. Plus, there's excellent skiing at Mont-Sainte-Anne, a raw, jagged coastline to explore on the Gaspé Peninsula, the vast tundra of the North Shore, and the desolate, stunning landscapes of Îles de la Madeleine.

You can stay near the shopping malls (Ste-Foy) or in the old Quebec. In Ste-Foy, I really like the ALTHotel http://quebec.althotels.ca/index.php (they have a Starbucks near by) and walking distance of the malls (Place Ste-Foy is the best). Ste-Foy (its a city next to Old Quebec), is the modern part of Quebec. Lots of fine restaurants, La Fenouillère, le Cochon Dingue, Soba, Cosmos, etc.
