We had a great time visiting the many different active demonstrations associated with the harvest, picked ears of popcorn and had a chance to try some fresh baked cookies. Afterwards we bought a pumpkin at the adjacent Perry Farms field that was full of pumpkins.
I went there for the Scottish Fair. The fair was great, they had everything, from Scottish traditional sports to a wedding ceremony. The heavy events are pretty cool to watch, the had the huge tire competition, Scottish hammers and many others. Just a few feet from the sports area, they had renaissance fair with old costumes, weapons, vikings and a traditional Scottish wedding.
A nice working farm especially well suited for young children. The house tour is great and highly recommended.

Ardenwood Farms is a great place to bring your kids, either on a school field trip, or with your own family. Best time to come is near Halloween, where you can come and pick out your pumpkin from the patch, while also enjoying the other farm staples of animals and vegetables. There are tractor hay rides, too!
This is great for kids who live in the cookie cutter bay area suburbs and need to touch and feel the farming life they see on their Saturday morning kid shows, without having to drive to Modesto, Salinas or Lodi!
Where else can you churn your own butter around here!
