The tree-lined lanes and friendly borrow-a-cup-of-sugar hospitality seem more in place in America's South than in the state known almost exclusively for commercialized theme ... Read more
parks. Browse the boutique shops of Pensacola or the Village Wharf windows in the former fishing village of Destin, grab some rays on the never-ending miles of the Gulf Coastline, or party with the spring breakers at Panama City Beach - but however you spend your days here, be sure to settle down in one of the area's excellent restaurants for fresh, delicious seafood.

Weather

The Panhandle does not follow the same weather pattern that the rest of the country expects from Florida (i.e. warm, hot, and hotter). If you travel to the area in the winter, you might even need a coat ... Read more

The high season begins in April and lasts throughout the dog days of summer when rising temperatures and high humidity make a dip in the Gulf of Mexico seem pretty enticing. The height of the event calendar falls during this time, but do bring a poncho, as afternoon thunderstorms are common from June to September.
