Denpasar Vacations

Denpasar is the capital city of the Indonesian island of Bali, known for its white, sandy beaches. Sanur is excellent for sunbathing and relaxing, whereas beaches like Kuta, Legian and Canggu offer good surfing. Most of the tourist infrastructure is based around Kuta, and this is the area to visit if you are into wandering around markets and craft ... Read more
stalls to haggle over batik. To get a feel for the main part of Denpasar itself, head to Puputan Badung Square in the center of the city. There’s a Hindu temple on one edge of this green urban space, and next door is the Bali Museum, which lays out the island’s history from prehistoric times right through to World War II.

and families from around the world. If you’d rather trade fair weather for an island all to yourself, visit during Bali’s humid and rainy monsoon season, when you can upgrade to a nicer hotel for a lower price. Keep in mind that Bali is home to a large Hindu population, so religious holidays like Galungan and Nyepi (the Balinese Day of Silence) might impact vacation plans, though it will also give you a glimpse into the island’s rich culture.

Bali is exotic and beautiful. The people are friendly and amazing, spiritual and so warm and welcoming. I am a tour escort from Hawaii and take groups there. It’s a long way from the US, but so worth the time it takes to get there. The prices are wonderful, and the food is exceptional. Just go!

Denpasar is the capital city and main hub of the Indonesian province of Bali, in the southern part of the island. Traffic is main issue.

Denpasar is the commercial center of Bali and home of the international airport. There is very little here that is of tourist interest. Other reviews refer to other parts of the island, not Denpasar proper. Tourists should not spend much time here unless they want to explore urban Indonesia.

Seems mostly like a transit point, not many people spend time here, and really it is hard to justify doing so with so many other wonderful options around the island.
