The Tivoli Gardens are located in the heart of the city and are a delight to visit in both summer and winter. I was there during December and the gardens had been transformed into a winter wonderland with fairy lights, snow-covered trees and cute wooden Scandinavian houses selling Christmas-related souvenirs. I kept warm by drinking copious amounts of grog and making use of the firepits placed throughout the grounds. The gardens are also home to the second oldest amusement park in the world with a range rides, shows and fun attractions to enjoy. Restaurants and snack stalls provide visitors with a variety of food from around the world.

Pretty impressive but I would have been astounded if I was 30 years younger. This is more for the family and the kids. I was however lucky to be there on the last day of the 2018 season and the weather was nice and sunny.

One of the oldest theme park. You can either walk around the park, really pretty, or go for every ride. If you are in Copenhagen you HAVE to see it.
Recommend: walking around at night. Amazing experience.

Tivoli is a beautifully designed theme park. It makes the theme parks of your childhood look kind of trashy. The rides are pretty good, although skewed towards milder rides. The food is nice and did I mention how damn pretty it is? Full marks for Danish design.

Nice place to have fun, unfortunatelly when I was there some of the better rides were not working.
The Amusement park is very beautiful and it's nice to see the excitement of the people when the park opens wich happens three times a year.

One of the most popular amusement parks in Europe and a charmingly bizarre mix of natural and artificial that keeps luring tourist from all over the world. Bear in mind that during winter the park is closed.

The entrance is very expensive, so if you're a Dane i would recommend an all-year entrance card! There are fun rides though, for both children and adults/young adults. It's also a place you can just go to take a walk because it has very beautiful scenery. The food there isn't bad. It's definitely a place you NEED to visit if you're a tourist, or a Dane, in Copenhagen

Tivoli is great! It is so unique. Everything is designed. The landscape, the pathways, the little booths. Other than the long lines it doesn't just scream amusement park. While it is the second oldest amusement park in the world. The rides are small and super fun especially the airplane. There are also restaurants in the park that you can find local and enjoy a great meal.

We visited for Christmas markets but it was more for the thrilling exhilarating rides that really made our day.
Prices are steep but hey you're on holiday...

Fantastic place to visit any time of the year but particularly in winter. Visiting after dark lets you see this theme park/gardens in a whole new light. Literally, as all the buildings are impressively illuminated with fairy lights. There are the usual staples of Christmas fayres here with mulled wine, churros and the like. For those seeking an adrenaline rush there are even some rollercoasters and rides. Check out Quality Street, named after the chocolates, were all the trees and lampposts are decorated with gigantic sweets. There is also some excellent craft and gift shops to wander around.

The one thing I wanted to see in Copenhagen was the most magical... For me! It is an amusement park but stunningly beautiful. You can see the rides but the park has a separation and the grounds are magical. Puppet shows, robots, and what looks like a castle is actually the Hotel Nimb which is inside the park.

Tivoli is for everyone! The lights at night is the best, and if you try 'The GoldenTower' do it when it's dark. The Best view in town, and there's a lot of REALLY delicious food there!

A visit to Copenhagen isn't complete without a pilgrimage to the iconic Tivoli Gardens. This amusement park is one of the highlights of the city and is incredibly fun any time of year. Rides all over the park will get your adrenaline pumping and there is a nightly light show over the man-made lake in the center of the park. I love coming here at night to get excellent views of the city lights from the Star Flyer.

Despite the somewhat racist Asian caricatures I would say this is a pretty cool little amusement park with rides and places to eat and buy knock knacks. It's especially nice with all the Christmas lights up too

Spectacular place to be immersed in the spirit of Christmas. The light show was breathtaking. Great place to visit whether you are interested in going on rides or not.

Such a pintoresque theme park! You don't need to take a train for a day trip if you want to visit Tivoli Gardens; they are right at the heart of Copenhagen.
Rather than being a collection of attractions, each area is organized according to a theme (Chinese section, Carnival area, etc), which results in an amazing attention to detail in every restaurant, shop and ride (very much like Disneyland, which was supposedly inspired by Tivoli).
In order to visit the parks, you must pay a fee (around 60 krs), which also includes some live shows. Every ride costs between one to three "tickets", so if you are planning to hop on more than four, an unlimited ride pass will be for the best value.
It is better to see the Gardens both during daylight and night time (when they are beautifully lit up), so go an hour before sunset.
