After visiting the Cathedral walk down and experience the real Cologne. This square has a beautiful atmosphere and always something going on, including the city’s famous Christmas markets. Street fairs, buskers, crafts…you never know what you’ll find when you wander through. Bars and restaurants attract a range of locals and the vibe changes from morning till afternoon to night. And what better place to indulge in a Kolsch beer?

If you are looking for authentic, historic Germany, this is a fantastic place to walk around.

And all the while I thought the only attraction in Cologne was the Cathedral. When we discovered the Old Town, we loved it! We crossed the street from the Dom, got into a pedestrian lane and further on you see the Old Town. Lovely to stroll through the narrow, cobble-stoned alleys which takes you back to times long ago.

Beautiful old world part of Cologne. Not much of the old city remains standing, so this very special.
