I saw Holidazed and Confused last year and my daughter did this year and the show was hilarious to both of us! Definitely worth the venture up to it if you’re staying down on The Magnificent Mile. We ate at the restaurant there because it was a super snowy night so we didn’t feel like making other stops and our meal was good. It was a fun night!

SECOND CITY

OLD TOWN--2 Miles from Wrigleyville

If Chicago is famous for improvisational comedy, The Second City is the ongoing reason.

One of the greatest places (if not THE BEST) in the country to catch an improv show! The entire complex for piper's alley has been renovated recently and is extremely nice.

One of the best comedy spots in the city. Get seats ahead of time and beware that seating can be a bit tight

Hilarious! The show was great and they even had improv at the end which was very funny! I was laughing so hard I was crying a couple times.

Fun shows with great talent. Often a "launching pad" for actors/comedians to Saturday Night Live and such.

Probably the most famous comedy club in America. The food is terrible and the seats could be more comfortable but this is probably THE place to go for Improv.

Comedic performances in a comfortable and trendy setting. The stages were inspiring and the performing was fantastic. At just over $20 per person for a ticket, how could one go wrong? They also offer comedic walking tours of Chicago. This is the place where many of the famous American comedians you see now got their start!

We took our 19 year old son, and had an absolute blast!!! No hecklers, no cigarette smoke, no drunks! Just lots of great skits, one liners and laughter. Highly recommend that this be part of your Chicago adventure.

So happy a friend recommended checking Second City out! Great improv and good fun. Make sure to get tickets early as they sell out pretty quickly.

If you like improv, you can't go wrong with The Second City--in fact, a bunch of SNL actors got there start with the company. The show lasts about two hours and focuses on political and social satire with help from the audience. Be sure to buy tix in advance--they usually sellout a week or two before each show.

Second City is an absolute must-see. It's where SO many major comics got their start. Too many to list here. You've heard of them all.

Comedy and Chicago go hand in hand thanks to The Second City. From its December 1959 opening in Old Town, it’s been the benchmark for improv as we know it—and a rite of passage for aspiring comics. John Belushi and Gilda Radner cut their teeth here, and veteran alumni like Tina Fey still grace the stage today. Although the brand has expanded with touring ensembles and training centers in Toronto and Hollywood, experiencing the cutting edge of sketch comedy on its original cabaret stage can’t be beat.

Second City is hands-down my favorite thing to do in Chicago. On any given day, they have 2-3 different sketch comedy shows nightly, each with a quirky theme that pokes fun at timely topics like US politics or online dating. The actors are roll-on-the-floor funny (many famous SNL actors rose up from Second City), and the sketches are often very memorable and still worth laughing about weeks later. Even if you've seen one of their shows before, you can still go again -- they change the themes about every 6 months to keep things fresh. Can't say enough good things!

The best comedy act I have ever seen. This is where some of the greatest and most recognizable faces in comedy got their start.

Home to improv comedy in Chicago and the starting point for many famous comedians of the past 3 decades, Second City provides a great place to develop your comic skills while making people laugh. You never know what kind of entertainment your going to get when you go.
