This is a really big place to visit in just one day. It has a lot of interesting things to see, but the tickets should last 2 days, not only one..

Wonderfully educational. Wear walking shoes though, it takes about 5 to 6 hours to cover it all.

It was a really nice experience. They have the only fully assembled T-Rex! Her name is Sue. Overall the museum is a great place to learn about different cultures and history.

Beautiful museum! So many different rooms to walk into and read about history of dinosaurs, China, Africa and even about Sue the T-Rex. Their short movies are awesome!

Founded in 1893, the museum's aim is the pursuit of scientific knowledge of our world. It offers many exhibits of past ancient cultures focusing on life on earth during different time periods in its history. The T-rex known as "Sue" along with many other dinosaur fossils are found at the Museum.

One of the best museums I've visited. I find most of the exhibits interesting plus they have a limited special exhibit brought in from another place which is really popular with museum goers. The building has a beautiful architecture and it has a massive area to explore so it is best to wear comfortable shoes.

Definitely one of the best museums in Chicago! Spent 4 hours exploring, and could easily have stayed longer. The exhibits were phenomenal.

The Field Museum fuels a journey of discovery across time to enable solutions for a brighter future rich in nature and culture.

The Field Museum’s scientific and education efforts are organized around four centers with distinct and complementary priorities.

Together, the centers increase the Museum’s ability to understand the past, explore the present, and shape a future rich with biological and cultural diversity. The Gantz Family Collections Center focuses on maximizing accessibility of our top collections for researchers, conservation professionals, and educators worldwide. The Integrative Research Center focuses on inquiry-driven research based on our collections, promoting interdisciplinary work across the biological, social, and earth sciences to deepen perspective and answer crucial questions of our times. The Keller Science Action Center puts museum science to work for conservation and cultural understanding, building on our record of success in the Chicago region and in the Andes-Amazon forests. The Learning Center uses real objects and current science to engage multiple audiences in active, experience-based learning.

All four centers contribute to education in the sciences at all levels: pre-K through high school, public learning (often in collaboration with our Exhibitions Department), graduate and post-doctoral training in partnership with universities, professional science and conservation training in tropical countries, and training citizen-scientists in conservation initiatives around the world.

There's a lot fascinating things to look at in this museum. It's huge! When I visited it was interesting to see people set up and painting. There's a lot to see so make sure you have enough time to take it all in. It gets quite crowded so there's long lines at the entrance. You can also eat there so that's convenient.

We really enjoyed the 1893 World's Fair exhibit and the Native American Indian exhibits. Most of the Egyptian exhibition was under remodel and curtained off. That was an unforeseen disappointment.

The Field Museum of Natural History is a wonderful museum that has less then one percent of it's collection on display. It had a wonderful collection that is on display and is a functioning research museum where people actually go to work on their PhDs and do research after they have their advanced degrees. The big exhibits change on a regular basis. Expect a full day to see this museum without rushing through it.

Went to the Field Museum to see the Terra Cotta Warriors...wow! The exhibit is worth paying the extra amount. Viewed the short narrative which gave insight into the first emperor of China who commissioned his tomb be surrounded by a "kingdom" of terra cotta figures. Each figure possessed unique qualities. Very educational indeed!

The Field Museum is a very large natural history that certainly has cool exhibits like the gem room and of course the dinosaurs! Leave yourself plenty of time because it's very large. We saw pretty much everything rather quickly though, but we had to keep up a good pace as we were short on time. This was not my favorite museum in Chicago despite others' top remarks for it. I just don't think I'm that into natural history and I don't really care for the stuffed animals...err taxidermy.
