Located in Grant Park looks like a wedding cake. As a child, during hot Chicago summers my family would go in the evenings to watch the colored lights water show. It was fantastic! I loved it as a child and still love it!

Buckingham Fountain is a Chicago landmark in the center of Grant Park. Dedicated in 1927, it is one of the largest fountains in the world.

The Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain, one of the largest in the world, is located at Columbus Drive (301 East) and Congress Parkway (500 South) in Grant Park and runs from 8 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily, typically from early April through mid-October, depending on weather. Display times are subject to change during special events in Grant Park.

While in operation, the Fountain produces a major water display for 20 minutes every hour. During the major display, a center jet shoots water to a height of 150 feet into the air. Major displays begin daily at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter, every hour on the hour. Beginning at dusk, a spectacular light and music display accompanies the major display, beginning every hour on the hour for 20 minutes. Each evening, the final

Came here right before 8am. The fountain started shooting out water at 8am . This fountain is in the opening credits of Married with Children. Come between April and October when the fountain is open.

A gorgeous water fountain in the spring and summer time. It's huge and so many architectural structures that make it mesmerizing.

Watch out for the mist! The water shoots so high and wide, and the wind is unpredictable, so you could be taking a photo one minute and being showered upon the next. The skyline makes for a nice backdrop beyond the fountain...the fountain in a park that appears at the end of a series of parks. Parents bring their little ones, couples take selfies, groups of teenagers swarm, and Segway tours gather around the fountain. Admire the view and pick up a sweet treat at the cafe in the corner.

The Buckingham Fountain is a fountain, and maybe not significantly different from a lot of other fountains around the world, but it's one that you definitely should go to and see if you're in downtown Chicago.

A true landmark of Chicago. The fountain is a wonderful place to sit in the evening and watch the view of the city and enjoy the breeze off the lake. The fountain is a beautiful sight after dark with its lighting changing the water's colors to the sound of music.

Absolutely beautiful! It is in Grant Park which is a very large park. Close to the lakefront. In the summer the fountain is lit up with different colored lights at night.

Located where Congress Parkway and Columbus Drive meet near Lake Michigan. Overwhelmingly sized, this is one of the largest fountains of it's kind. Makes for a great photo op!

A must see if you're visiting Chicago. One can't leave the city until they've taken a picture with the fountain in the background. So gorgeous, and an easy place to take millions of pictures to send home.
