I love art museums honestly. every time I visit a new city, I have to check out their art museums. When I visited I got a t-shirt and a folding block with all of the primary art exhibits printed on it. It was great, and I highly recommend a visit to anyone who hasn't been yet!

Initially went here on a Spanish trip for my class and had so much fun with my classmates. I came back here again with my friends just for fun! Good student prices. The museum is filled with so many interesting pieces of artwork, it's nice to just walk around and try to understand what they all mean. The sculptures and oil paintings are my favorite exhibits.

Free family play area and thinking lounge off the Modern wing. Simple, quiet indoor space for all ages to relax after shopping or visiting the park. Kids can take part in free workshops, draw, build, read, create a unique journey map for a self-guided museum tour. Tweens and older may enjoy the lounge where you can leave questions for the museum or pick a conversation starter to engage with your group.

This is a great place to visit in Chicago, particularly if it is cold outside. It has an excellent permanent exhibit.

Wonderful museum in the heart of Chicago. Their permanent collection is especially worth seeing. They also have a very good cafe.

This place is magnificent! One of the best art museums I’ve been to. Didn’t have enough time to explore (only had three hours...). We had lunch there, too, and it was actually a pretty good meal. Will definitely go back.

Too many paintings so don’t try to do everything on one visit. Pace yourself and checkout the styles you like best.

Hands down the best museum in the city. You could spend hours here, so I recommend setting a good amount of time aside to go here. If you come here on Thursday evenings, it's free for Illinois residents, but they only simply ask you for your zip code, no ID. Or, if you go to the self purchase kiosk, you just need to input an Illinois zip code and you are in for free.

One of the best art museums in the US with one of the larger collections of Impressionist works by Monet, Degas, and Renoir. Not to be missed 'Saturday Afternoon in the Park' by Seurat. Plenty of Van Gogh’s Picasso’s too.

Went on a free day, but worth the $22 admission fee! Not being a huge art buff, I actually thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Great variety with some of the best exhibits.

This is a great art museum in a great city. The place is huge and you can spend hours looking at art and the people who look at art. Watch for discounts and go to the park next door for a complete day of tourist stuff.

The Art Institute of Chicago, founded in 1879 and located in Chicago's Grant Park, is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States. Recognized for its curatorial efforts and popularity among visitors, the museum hosts approximately 1.5 million guests annually.[1] Its collection—stewarded by 11 curatorial departments—is encyclopedic, and includes iconic works such as Georges Seurat's A Sunday on La Grande Jatte — 1884, Pablo Picasso's The Old Guitarist, Edward Hopper's Nighthawks, and Grant Wood's American Gothic. Its permanent collection of nearly 300,000 works of art is augmented by more than 30 special exhibitions mounted yearly that illuminate aspects of the collection and present cutting-edge curatorial and scientific research.

The Art Institute of Chicago is one of my favorite museums! It's right next to millennium park. There's so much to see that you could spend all day there and not see it all. Definitely a must see for those with any interest in art.

An outstanding destination in Chicago. Enough art for several days of exploring. The impressionist display is top notch. My favorite piece was the Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon... The painting is featured in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

The best museum I have ever visited. Spent three hours wondering around and could easily have spent three more. The exhibition on 1930s American Drawings was excellent! A must-do when in Chicago

Chicago is known for its world class museums and "The Art Institute" is one of the many... Being a big fan of Van Gogh this place is a heaven for me. The huge size and collection of arts from different era is a treat for the soul.

I got to visit the Van Gophs exhibit, and although my pictures for that event turned out horribly the view of the Asia exhibit and its artifacts are astonishingly beautiful.
