Cape Coral is a large peninsula and is bordered in the south and east by the Caloosahatchee River and in the west by Matlacha Pass. The city of Fort Myers lies across the Caloosahatchee River to the south, and Matlacha and Pine Island lie across Matlacha Pass to the west. so-called “water wonderland” by Real estate developers, Leonard and Jack Rosen. With over 400 miles (640 km) of navigable waterways, Cape Coral has more miles of canals than any other city on earth. Most of the canals are navigable and some have access to the Gulf of Mexico. People come to this part of the state for its favorable climate, abundance of natural areas, wildlife watching opportunities and because of the region's legacy as a fishing hot spot.

sure to book your hotel far in advance since rooms go fast from February through April. The area’s mild climate attracts visitors during the rest of the year, too, but to a lesser degree. Visiting in the summer comes with its own recompense: higher temperatures, humidity and occasional rain in exchange for discounted hotel rates and fewer crowds on the beach. However, be sure to keep an eye on the local weather since hurricane season runs from June through November.

A laid-back, tropical community with beaches, sun, and a great spot to sip your Mai Tai.

Hi! I really enjoyed my time in Cape Coral. Staying with my host Boris through Airbnb.com was really great and fun! He provided interesting converse and local suggestions for entertainment, restaurants and sight seeing. My room was clean, presentable and just as I saw in the posting. There weren't any unpleasant surprises when I arrived. I was actually more impressed with the house and grounds when I arrived than when I'd saw the posting. He made me feel welcome and even attended a musical event with me. I would definitely stay with him again if I was going back to Cape Coral and would suggest him to other adventurers and travelers. The area was quiet and different from the big city! The view from the back lanai was beautiful, the house has a great lay out and the sleeping space was private. The area was most beautiful. This is definitely prime location for vacationers or retirees!
