I was really busy during my brief time here so I didn't get the best sense of the country. I did get to see how strong the belief in Voodoo is here, which was fascinating and beautiful. I also got a pretty good idea of how warped the Western idea of Voodoo is. If you're into cultural experience or have any modicum of interest in world religions, Benin should be on your "To-Do" list. There are plenty of opportunities to see the religion in its untainted form. While there may be rituals and shrines open to the visiting public, they're not put on for tourists.
