This place is nuts! you can get the expected street food like meat on a stick, but also deep fried bugs. I was going to try deep fried scorpion, but then the scorpion started twitching on the stick. I kinda felt bad paying for them to fry it alive...

One of the most famous shopping streets in Beijing. In terms of architecture it will remind of western countries. You can find various western brands and plenty of cafes and restaurants. More often than not it is really crowded, however I will recommend it for the opportunity to try Chinese street food and something more exotic like, for example, scorpions on a stick.

Before you even see this street you will probably smell it from miles away! The first thing to catch my eye was the deep fried star fish and various insects on a stick! Walking through here is an interesting experience, and it can get quite chaotic, the group I was with ended up getting split up and losing each other because it got so busy. Definitely take a walk through, and maybe try some of the interesting local food, but keep your eyes on your belongings and your friends!

Busy, touristy and still lots of fun for those who have not been to Beijing.

A busy food market in the heart of Beijing that offers everything from kebabs to grilled scorpions and squid.

When we walked along this street, we are surprised to see so many hawkers are selling snacks especially Muslims satay' (roasted lamb in a stick). Many selling 'hulu tang', some tourist guide will advise you you not to eat too much because it is not so clean and unhealthy.

It is maybe a tourist trap, but there's a reason. The surreal street food selections we all heard about China, are all here. Star fish, sea horse, bugs, scorpions and various kind of meats. It's a fun place to be! I actually went there twice. Don't worry, there's a lot of eatable choices.

In the mood for snackeries? You can find everything that is local and Chinese here. From the famed lamb skewers (where in majority of the other areas in Beijing is no longer made out of lamb), to the strange foodery challenge of eating a starfish or a bunch of scorpions, to the sugar dough dolls that's hot blowed into cartoon characters and horoscopes of your choosing. This is the place to come and experience all of them - a little pricey and very touristy - but you get the real deal and safer to eat than other street vendors in the city.

This little side street off Wangfujing is filled with so many different types of street food. There are some items like lamb skewers and fish balls that are actually common to eat in Beijing, and then there are other items like scorpions that are meant for the adventurous eaters.

I've been to a few night markets and this one was definitely the most tourist-centric. I can assure you that there are few locals eating the scorpions for 15 yuan a stick. It was fun to wander around but many of the items looked like they were sitting out for a long time and I really don't have any desire to eat grilled starfish. This street is in the middle of a bunch of other shopping, so even if you don't enjoy it, there are other things to see in the area.

You can experience every type of protein here from sheep testicles to water beetles. If you prefer, some bubble tea or fried ice cream will also satisfy! My apologies if this posts twice.

Wangfujing Snack Street is a bit touristy, but how can you not be intrigued in seeing scorpions and seahorses on a stick? There's lots of different street foods sold here. Just walk along the snack street and see where your taste buds and eyes take you.

A great place, to try everything you never thought of eating before. The shops here sell everything from scorpions to centipods, seastars, snakes and so on. Naming everything would clearly go beyond the scope of a review.. go there and see (and eat of course) it yourself, it's amazing.

It's very touristy, but you can get your fix of super weird foods like scorpion and starfish. Some is good (snake, scorpion), some is bad (centipede). There's other actually tasty foods like dumplings and stinky tofu between the strange things.

An overpriced tourist trap in the middle of the city. Come for the weird foods you can see on display, but don't actually plop down and eat any of it. People in Beijing don't actually eat this food and real street food can be found in the allies along other shopping centers.

The Snack Street right off of Wangfujing main street is full of wonderful surprises in edibles: fried seahorse, skewered scorpions, roasted beetle, and deep fried starfish. Whether stomach or mouth opening is one thing, but this stretch off the WFJ is definitely eye opening.
