Departing from Toronto
Most flights to Boston Logan International Airport will depart from Toronto's Pearson International Airport (YYZ), a modern airport with plenty of shops, restaurants, lounges, and art exhibits to keep you entertained while you wait for your flight. If you're flying with Porter Airlines, however, you'll likely be departing from Toronto Island Airport (YTZ) instead. This airport is smaller than Pearson International, but still has several shops and restaurants available. It is located on an island just outside of downtown Toronto, and easily accessible via ferry, an underwater walkway, or on public transit. Free wi-fi is available.
Arriving at Boston Logan International Airport
After you land at the airport, follow the overhead signs to collect your bags and move through customs. You should expect the process to take about 45 minutes from when you land to when you can leave the airport. To get to your hotel in the city, consider these transportation options:
- Taxi ($37.50 to downtown Boston): Taxis are available at the entrance to the terminals, and can take you to downtown in about 20 minutes. Tipping 5-10% for good service is customary.
- MBTA Subway (Free to South Station or the Red Line, then $3.50 for a transfer): The airport offers free service to the main stations, but you'll need to pay to transfer after that. To get to the train, take one of the free shuttles from any terminal.
- Shared Van ($25): There are several airport shuttle services available, and some hotels even offer it for free. Call ahead of time to reserve a spot.
- Car Rental: There are several car hire companies available at Boston Logan Airport, including Avis, Alamo, Budget, Hertz, and more. Book ahead of time with Skyscanner to be sure there is a car waiting for you when you arrive!
