Inside: Montreal-Trudeau International Airport
Montreal-Trudeau International Airport is a major airport with plenty of amenities on offer. Fortunately, there is just one terminal building, making navigating the airport surprisingly easy. Once you pass security you have quite a few amenities on offer in the international departures area, including a spa, lounges, bars, and both fast food and fine dining options. There is even a food truck serving Montreal's famous bagels. The Loop, one of Canada's biggest duty-free shops, is also located in the airport. Free WiFi is available throughout the terminal. If you are driving to the airport there are quite a few parking spots available for both short- and long-term use and you can conveniently reserve a spot online.
Check-In: Montreal-Trudeau International Airport
You should arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure. Traffic delays getting to the airport are common so schedule accordingly. Make sure you're aren't carrying any non-permitted items and check your airline's rules about luggage allowance before you leave--especially if you are flying with a low-cost airline. To find your check-in counter consult the display panels located throughout the airport. You will need to present your passport both to receive your boarding pass and when actually boarding your flight.
What to Expect When Landing in Reykjavik
Reykjavik-Keflavik is Iceland's main international airport and is located 50 km from Reykjavik itself. There are two shuttle buses that will take you to central Reykjavik and they operate 35-45 minutes after each arriving flight. The public bus line number 55 also makes nine trips a day from the terminal to the central Reykjavik bus terminal. If you plan on venturing beyond Reykjavik then renting a car is the most convenient and often the cheapest option. There are four rental agencies located at the airport. Be aware that if you plan on renting a four-wheel drive you should book it well in advance, especially during the summer season when exploring Iceland's rugged scenery draws tourists from all over the world.
