Izmir is only Turkey's fifth busiest airport, but it's well-connected to public transportation and offers many advantages to travellers.
Inside, you'll find an absolutely gigantic duty-free store, plus a decent assortment of boutiques and dining options. Most of the food vendors are located in the international departures area, however. There's also the Millennium Lounge for first-class and business travellers to relax and enjoy complimentary refreshments before boarding.

Since Izmir to Istanbul is a domestic flight, you only need to arrive an hour early at İzmir's Adnan Menderes Airport.
