Hotels in Victoria Falls

Located on the western side of Zimbabwe, and across the border from Botswana, Livingstone, and Zambia, the town of Victoria Falls is a popular destination among nature lovers and adventure seekers. This small town will never be known for its bustling bar scene, which is just as well for many visitors to the region. Instead, tourists flock to Victoria Falls to observe wild game, watch exotic birds, and sample the very best of authentic African cuisine -- not to mention get a look at the magnificent waterfalls after which the town is named.

Where to Stay in Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is undoubtedly the most sought-after hotel in Victoria Falls. Guests here stay close to the falls and enjoy safari-themed interiors, à la carte dining, an onsite casino, and all-you-can-eat buffet dinners with authentic African entertainment. Farther afield, along the Zambezi River, the Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge provides guests with some of the most exquisite birdwatching and game spotting in the region. Herds of over 1,000 elephants have been seen wandering the floodplains beneath the lodge, which is situated approximately 80 kilometres to the west of central Victoria Falls.

Other types of accommodation can be found throughout Victoria Falls and vary widely in price and quality. All of the hotels have restaurants, and meals are so cheap that an entire family can eat on just a few dollars a day. Keep in mind, however, that some lodging options advertise themselves as being close to the falls when they are, in fact, quite far away. Be sure to verify how close your chosen hotel is to the falls before making a reservation.
