This place is awesome! I lived in a small town here for about a year and loved getting to know the culture and people. There are tons of onsens, festivals, and hiking to keep you busy. The most famous tourist city is Kakunodate, famous for cherry-bark crafts, cherry blossoms, and samurai houses.

Prefecture in northern Honshu known for its mountains, excellent powder and skiing in winter, and world-class onsen. Don't miss Nyuto Onsen and Kakunodate, a historical town with excellent samurai houses.
