Tikal is the largest city in the Mayan civilization, located in the northeastern part of Guatemala. I have visited many other Mayan sites such as Chichen Itza, Tulum and Coba in Mexico but this is my first time seeing Tikal. Cheapest way to get to Tikal is to take a Collectivo (shared van) from the airport for about $20 and you have the option to add English speaking tourguide when you get there for about $15, and the entrance fee to the park is another $20. So for about $55, you can get a nice half day tour with transportation. As the slogan for Guatemala states "Corazón del Mundo Maya", this was the heart of the Maya World. A must see Unesco Heritage site if you're visiting this area!

You really feel as if you're Indiana Jones while visiting Tikal. Some of the ruins are still covered in jungle and monkeys howl while toucans fly overhead. A special experience, and Tikal has the most impressive Mayan ruins I've seen (much larger than other sites.)

This famous Mayan ruin in Guatemala is just a 2 hours away in Guatemala, a wonderful and fascinating day trip. We can take you to the border and to join up with an experienced Guatemalan tour guide and arrange the whole trip including transportation, entry passes with guide and lunch all for about 125-150$ Per person inclusive for a group of 4 or more.
