Cheap Flights to Regina Airport

Regina International Airport (YQR) is located on the West end of the city, approximately 5 km from the city center. Regina is the home of the RCMP Depot, training center for Canada's police force since 1885. The best time to visit Regina is between May and September when temperatures are pleasant and the city's renowned Wascana Park is in full greenery. Thunderstorms can roll in quickly on a hot summer's day, and roll out just as fast. Winters can be very cold, with temperatures dropping to -20C and below. The cheapest times to visit are the edges of the shoulder seasons (May and September). The city is busiest in the summertime but will see a noticeable influx of visitors (wearing green!) in the fall during any Saskatchewan Roughriders' home game.

Regina International Airport is relatively small, with only 3 post-security food vendors. There is a Tim Hortons in both the pre-and post-security areas. Both are open as long as the airport is running flights. There is free wi-fi, ATMs on both levels, and a currency dispenser on the second level carries Canadian Dollars, American Dollars, Euros, and British Pounds. The post-security area is quite small, and there is no chance of getting lost. Taxis are available right outside the terminal doors, and car rental desks from Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty. A shuttle service is available to select locations in Regina and around Saskatchewan. There is no public transit service to or from the airport.

Regina is a surprisingly pretty city, with plenty of green space and nice restaurants. If you are visiting in the summer or fall, try to catch a Saskatchewan Roughriders home game which is an experience in itself, even if you don't follow CFL football. The downtown has some pedestrian areas, and the summer months see farmers' markets spring up and the Regina Fringe Theater Festival. Wascana Park, the city's showpiece, is a beautiful spot to picnic or relax in the sun. Book a hotel in Regina now. The prairie skyline is a sight to be seen against a pink and orange sunset in a place that calls itself the "Land of living skies".
