What to Expect When Arriving at the Airport

There are 3 terminals at AUH, with the third dedicated solely to Etihad Airways and terminals 1 & 2 used by all other airlines. All three terminals are adjacent to one another, and you can make your way from one terminal to another on foot and expect that the journey should not be longer than 20 minutes.

A regular inter-terminal shuttle bus also operates every 15-20 minutes. Shuttle stops are located outside Terminal 1 at Entrance 5 and at Terminal 2 in front of Departures.

Transportation to and from Abu Dhabi International Airport is relatively simple, with taxis and comfortable, air conditioned buses connecting passengers to the city. Toyota Camry taxis are available outside the Terminal 2 Arrivals area, and 6-seater black Mercedes Vitos are available at the taxi pick-up area outside the Arrivals Hall for Terminals 1 & 3. The green and white A1 buses depart from outside Terminals 1, 2 & 3.

In March 2016, the Air Transport News Awards gave the 'Airport of the Year' award to AUH, and it's not hard to see why.

The recently refurbished Terminal 1 offers travellers an unmatched hospitable welcome, with a high-end, modern atmosphere that is nothing less than a 5-star experience.

In Terminal 3, you'll find beautiful Etihad lounges, delicious restaurants and cafés, and an impressive range of shopping and retail, managed by none other than DFS, the world's largest luxury retailer.
