How to get to the airport

Los Angeles is a famously car-friendly city and getting to the airport is usually best done by having your own rental car or by taking a taxi. Alternatively, there is a shuttle bus, the FlyAway Bus, with express service from Union Station, Hollywood, Long Beach, and other destinations in the Greater Los Angeles area. An automated people mover connecting the airport to the city's light rail system is currently under construction.

Los Angeles International is a huge airport with nine passenger terminals and plenty of shops and restaurants. Among the more original features of the airport are the Theme Building, a 1960s Space Age style building that is shaped like a flying saucer and opened on the weekends as an observation tower, and the Flight Path Learning Center and Museum, where you can learn about the history of civil aviation and the impact it has had on Southern California.
