Selecting a car rental from Dubai International Airport removes the aggravation of waiting for other means of transportation to get from the airport to the hotel. Skyscanner takes the stress out of finding luxury or discounted rental cars in Dubai and makes it a simple process.
Car Rentals at Dubai International Airport
Travellers may use the Skyscanner site to find a compact, sedan, or luxury car or an SUV or truck. Then, they can choose from car rental agencies conveniently located at the airport such as Sixt Rent a Car and Hertz Car Rental, both located in Terminal 1. Hertz is also located in Terminal 3.
Other car rental agencies at the airport include Alamo, Dollar, Thrifty, and Avis.
Dubai is a 12-minute drive from the airport via E11. This route has tolls. An alternate route is via Sheikh Rashid Rd/E11 that takes 15 minutes and has no tolls.
Driving in Dubai
Even for the experienced driver, navigating around the city can be more than a little daunting. While there are speed limits in place, signage noting the changes in speed are not always readily available, which means the speed can change from fast to slow in a matter of seconds.
Most everyone travels at the maximum speed limit, and locals do not always signal when changing lanes or turning. Breaking the speed limit is rigorously enforced using cameras and the police.
The blocks are very long in Dubai, so missing a turn can extend travel time. On the positive side, there is not a lot of bicycle or pedestrian traffic.
To fill up the gas tank before returning the rental car, ENCO at 2 Al Quds St. and two EPPCO stations, one at Al Nahda Rd D 93 and the other on Casablanca St., are located near the airport. Each is open 24 hours.
