Naha Airport is the main gateway to Okinawa Prefecture in Japan. This chain of tropical islands, stretching from the main islands of Japan southwards to Taiwan, retains a character that is distinct from the rest of the country. A separate country for much of its history, Okinawa still has its own language and culture. This history makes it a particularly interesting part of Japan to visit and, combined with spectacular beaches, it is certainly an unforgettable experience for most. Skyscanner's monthly search tool can help you find the cheapest flights to Okinawa Naha Airport during any time of the year.
Best Time to Book a Flight to Okinawa Naha Airport
Most of the year is a good time to visit Okinawa. While rainy season runs from April to June, even during this time there are still plenty of sunny days and usually some good deals on flights and hotels. Summer can be extremely humid, making things a bit uncomfortable, but otherwise it is a great time to visit. Perhaps the only time of the year when you should avoid Okinawa is during Golden Week around the end of April, when a number of national holidays cause crowds of Japanese sunseekers to flock to the islands.

All other international flights arrive at the International Terminal. The fastest and cheapest way to get into the city centre is via the monorail. The station is located across from the Domestic Terminal. If you need to get elsewhere on the island there are a number of shuttle buses available or you can hire a taxi. Okinawa is less intimidating to drive in than other parts of Japan so renting a car at the airport is a worthwhile option. Just remember that you will need an International Driver's License and that you must drive on the left in Japan.
