Arriving at Terrace Airport
Terrace Airport is a one-terminal airport located about 10 km south of Terrace. Outside of arrivals, you can board a taxi operated by Kalum Kabs or Coastal Taxi. By car, the ride into town takes about 15 minutes. On the way, you'll travel via bridge over the Skeena River, allowing you to take in the lovely water views. There is also a bus system which stops at the airport and connects passengers to Terrace and other nearby cities.
If you'd prefer to have full flexibility with your transportation, renting a car is the best option. National, Budget, and Hertz all have service counters at Terrace Airport. Since the city is surrounded by mountains, be careful exploring the area if you are not used to driving in mountainous regions.
Terrace Airport Facilities
As a fairly small airport, Terrace Airport offers few amenities. Overall, the terminal is quiet and comfortable, with ample seating available in the bright, clean waiting area. There are no shops, so you'll want to do your souvenir shopping outside of the airport. To keep you busy while you wait, the airport offers free high-speed wireless internet. The airport also has a flight deck restaurant which is open throughout most of the day from Sunday to Friday and closes at 3 PM on Saturdays.
What to See and Do in Terrace
As there are so many beautiful parks around, many of the best things to do in Terrace are outdoor activities. Kleanza Creek Provincial Park is one of the most popular spots to visit. If your visit falls between May 11th and September 16th, the park is open for camping adventures. While camping, you can hike, canoe, or head to the wildlife viewing area to see the natural wildlife. If you visit during the winter, the park is open for cold-weather activities like snowshoeing.
