Baie Comeau Airport: Cheap Flights, Tickets and Travel Deals

Located in Quebec's Côte-Nord region along the northern shores of the mighty St. Lawrence River, Baie-Comeau is a town of about 22,000 people and one of the area's main industrial centres. While Baie-Comeau itself is not primarily known as a tourist destination, it is within easy reach of some of Quebec's most spectacular scenery and attractions, including Sept-Îles and the beautiful views of the St. Lawrence along Route 138.

Baie-Comeau Airport, located just south of the town, offers flights to destinations throughout Quebec as well as to Labrador. Because driving distances between Baie-Comeau and Quebec's larger cities can be so long, flying to or from here may be more practical. While cheap flights can be hard to come by, Skyscanner's search feature can at least help you make sure you get the best deal possible. Furthermore, with Price Alerts you can sign up to receive notifications whenever prices on popular routes to or from Baie-Comeau Airport have gone up or down.

Flying to or from Baie-Comeau Airport

Baie-Comeau Airport is served by just three airlines: Air Canada, Air Liaison, and Pascan Aviation. Almost all flights are to destinations within Quebec, with Air Canada's route to Montreal-Trudeau being the most popular. Flights to Quebec City, Mont-Joli, Sept-Iles, and Bagotville are also readily available. Air Liaison offers the only flight outside of Quebec, to Wabush in Labrador.

Transportation Options

The best, and in many cases the only, way to get around Baie-Comeau and the surrounding region is by car. There is an Enterprise Rent-A-Car located at the airport, although you can also rent a car from other agencies and they will pick you up at the airport. Pay parking is also available at the airport and the drive to Baie-Comeau itself, which is about 15 km away, takes about 27 minutes.

Terminal Information

Baie-Comeau Airport doesn't really have many amenities since this is a small facility and most people still arrive in Baie-Comeau by car. There is a waiting area and vending machines and the airport is well maintained, however. Also, note that the terminal is not open 24 hours. Its hours are 5:30 am to 9:30 pm on weekdays, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays, and 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Sunday.

What to see and do in Baie-Comeau

Baie-Comeau has plenty to offer nature lovers, even if it is primarily known for its paper mill and hydroelectric industries. A drive in either direction along Route 138 reveals beautiful vistas of the broad St. Lawrence River. If you head three hours north, you will find the Daniel-Johnson Dam, an awe-inspiring sight and the largest arch and buttress dam in the world. Heading east along Route 138 brings you to Sept-Îles, a charming town with access to great beaches and salmon fishing. The St. Lawrence is also a noted whale watching destination, and you can get a cruise to see these majestic creatures. A ferry service also operates between Baie-Comeau and Matane, which is the gateway to Quebec's famous Gaspe Peninsula, one of the most visited areas in the province. When it comes to finding a hotel in Baie-Comeau there are plenty of options available. Skyscanner can help you find one that fits your expectations without breaking your budget.
