Santa Rosa Airport: Cheap Flights, Tickets and Travel Deals

As the largest city in Sonoma County and one of the largest in the San Francisco Bay area, Santa Rosa is an ideal base for exploring the world-famous Napa Valley wineries and the other natural and cultural delights this region has on offer. The city also has a proud association with the Peanuts comic strip and was the home of Charles M. Schulz for 30 years.

It is no surprise then that the Santa Rosa Airport, officially the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport, is named after the city's most famous resident. The airport's logo even features Snoopy in vintage flying gear atop his red dog house! While not a large airport, there are a number of useful connections from here to a handful of American airports. With Skyscanner's flight search tool you can easily find cheap airfare to Santa Rosa and if you sign up for Price Alerts you won't miss out on any deals on flights.

Flying to or from Santa Rosa Airport

Santa Rosa Airport is by no means a large airport since most people flying to the Bay Area use the much larger airports in San Francisco and Oakland. However, it does have some convenient flights on offer, including to Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and San Diego. Seasonal service is also available to Minneapolis/St. Paul. Currently, there are four airlines flying to Santa Rosa Airport:

  • Alaska Airlines
  • American Airlines
  • Sun County Airlines
  • United Airlines

Transportation Options

Despite being a small airport, there are a surprising number of decent transportation options available. A shuttle bus operates between the terminal and the nearby Sonoma County Airport station, where you can catch a light rail train operating to cities throughout Sonoma and Marin Counties. The train takes about 12 minutes to get to Santa Rosa. There are also express buses that run to San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport. Taxis are of course available just outside the arrivals hall and take about 15 minutes to reach Santa Rosa. The easiest way to get around Santa Rosa and the broader region is definitely by car, however, and to really see all of the sights renting a car will be your best option.

Terminal Information

The terminal at Santa Rosa Airport is small, but it offers everything you could need as you wait for your flight. There is a steakhouse and sushi bar, complimentary WiFi, vending machines, and an ATM.
