Nome Airport is served by a handful of airlines, which offer flights to Alaska's most prominent towns and its most remote communities. These carriers include:

  • Alaska Airlines
  • Arctic Transportation Services
  • Bering Air
  • Evergreen Helicopters
  • Ravn Alaska

There are no direct flights to Canada offered at Nome. So, if you're looking to visit this icy wonderland, your best bet is flying into Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska and continuing on to Nome with Alaska Airline's help. Air Canada offers a seasonal route from Vancouver to Anchorage, and many American carriers will also fly you there from several of the US's biggest cities, including Atlanta, Seattle, Chicago, and San Francisco.

When it comes to amenities, Nome Airport is lacking in comparison to other American airports. However, given Nome's remote location and its small population of under 4,000 residents, the level demand for upscale amenities and services is understandably low. So, when you arrive at Nome Airport, don't expect to be greeted by free wifi, an airport lounge, or even any on-site vendors, but the airport attendants are friendly and strive to make you feel welcome.

If you're looking for a snack before or after your flight, check out Airport Pizza. Sitting just east of the airport, this pizza joint serves up the best slices in town. While their food is delicious, Airport Pizza is best known for boarding Bering Air flights to provide free delivery to remote Arctic communities!
