QantasLink flights & tickets

QantasLink is a regional subsidiary of Australia's national airline, Qantas. QantasLink has eighty-two airplanes that provide service to fifty-four domestic destinations across Australia. Through its partnership with Qantas, QantasLink helps travelers discover Australia by going further off the beaten path than ever before.

Canadian travelers can book flights on QantasLink as part of a single trans-Pacific ticket with Qantas and one of their partner airlines (which include Westjet and American Airlines). The most convenient route involves flying from Canada to Los Angeles and then onwards to Sydney or Brisbane. From there, it's easy to hop on board one of QantasLink's 2000 weekly departures.

Why Fly QantasLink

All QantasLink travelers can check in for their QantasLink flights online, through the official Qantas mobile app or at the airport. For travelers whose tickets include onwards international travel, check-in options include the Qantas website or airport check-in counters. Online and mobile check-in opens twenty-four hours before departure and closes thirty minutes before the plane is scheduled to leave.

Flyers in QantasLink economy class can check one suitcase weighing no more than 23 kilograms and business class travelers can check two bags of the same weight. The airline's carry-on baggage allowance is generous; it permits passengers on most aircraft to bring two pieces of carry-on baggage as long as each piece's total dimensions are less than 105 centimeters, as well as one personal item like a purse or laptop computer.

Passengers with baggage that exceeds the checked baggage allowance can save money by paying for their additional bags online before arriving at the airport. Excess baggage fees begin at $35 AUD ($35 CAD) for domestic flights and $123 AUD ($123 CAD) for flights between Australia and Canada or the USA.

As a regional carrier, QantasLink offers a limited seat selection. Some flights have business class service where wider seats offer more legroom. Otherwise, economy class travelers can identify a preference for aisle or window seats after they have completed their online booking and QantasLink will try to accommodate their request. QantasLink does not have seatback entertainment in any seats.

There is no fee to book a flight through the QantasLink website. Reservations made by phone or in a Qantas office are subject to a service fee of $35 AUD ($35 CAD).
