Terminal Information

San Cristobal Airport is an extremely small airport and there aren't really any amenities to enjoy, including no televisions or wifi.  There is a small waiting area with a few chairs. However, since the airport is so small you don't usually have to worry about long lineups, meaning you likely won't be waiting around here for very long. Staff at the airport are extremely friendly and usually happy to help you if you have questions about your flight. Note that foreign tourists are required to pay a $100 tax upon arrival.

What to see and do in San Cristobal

Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristobal Island is the largest town in the Galapagos and a useful base for exploring the islands. As one of the most popular tourist attractions in all of South America, the Galapagos have a well-developed tourist infrastructure. However, keep in mind that because this is a unique and fragile ecosystem, there are many regulations surrounding what tourists can and cannot do on the islands and a guide will often be required. There are numerous beaches dotting the island and plenty of scuba diving opportunities. Much of the island has been set aside for ecological preservation and, with a guide, you can see giant tortoises, sea lions, blue-footed boobies, pelicans, iguanas, and much more. You can use Skyscanner to help you find a hotel during your stay on San Cristobal.
